Creative Writing and Proofreading

If you want your message to matter, it has to be written well. Technology helps tremendously in this regard – in a few seconds, we can send an eblast to everyone on our client list, letting them know about the latest update, the hottest sales, the wonderful product that’s waiting to be bought.

But if the message goes out with misspelled words and bad grammar, it tarnishes the product and the company’s image just a little bit, putting a spot of rust on what could otherwise be a beautiful thing.

Mark Twain summed this up when he said, “The difference between the almost right word and the right word is the difference between the lightning bug and the lightning.”

I want to help people and businesses “create the lightning” by using my natural skills as a writer and proofreader to make sure the message they share with the world is consistent and error-free.

It’s work that I enjoy, so if proper grammar and punctuation is a thorn in your side, contact me – I’m always open to new projects. If you need samples I’ve done for other clients, you’ll find them here. I’ve worked with a variety of people, and they each have a special story that it’s been my privilege to tell.

The Green Hornet Suit and Other Musings” is life as I enjoy it – fun, quirky and usually unexpected. “Travels to Italy” shares the joy I found getting lost in Rome, exploring the wonders of Florence, and the thrill of Venice. I’m not finished with Italy by a long stretch – I’ll be back, someday soon.

I’d love to hear from you – whether it’s a video script, a set of wedding vows, copywriting or proofreading a manuscript, I’d be happy to help.

Contact me today and let’s get started!

You are a person after my own heart. In its own way, SpellCheck has been the worst technological invention ever. I had a past editor who was such a stickler for spelling, tense and grammar, that the lesson remain to this day. I am sickened to read so many stories, see so many screen crawls on the news with such gross spelling, tense errors.

There, now I feel better. Good luck with your blog and your business!

    • Thanks! Glad our hearts beat the same when it comes to grammar! For me, bad grammar is kind of like having something stuck in your teeth – it just ruins the effect of a great smile. I notice those goofs, too, and wish I could do something to help.

Good luck with your blog, too!

My very first blog under a previous name a few years back was about poor grammar and spelling in published works. I was amazed at the number of comments supporting my position and discussing their experiences. There are good readers out there, so keep at it.
